There are two types of dental veneers that people often refer to: porcelain or bonded (composite) veneers. Both varieties use material that is bio-compatible. This means veneers can replicate natural teeth function with no obstruction or interference to your daily routine.
Veneers are the ultimate and most immediate route to cosmetically augmenting your smile if you are suitable for treatment. One of the most important aspects of selecting veneers is choosing the right practitioner to sculpt your desired smile.
Porcelain Veneers are made of ultra-thin ceramic porcelain that is permanently bonded to your natural tooth enamel. They are commonly placed on the front surface of your prepped, frontal tooth to enhance your teeth for cosmetic and structural purposes. Porcelain veneers provide a more natural look, superior durability and are highly stain resistant.
Picasso Porcelain Veneers™ are Vogue Dental Studios very own brand of porcelain veneers, personally developed by Dr. Dee. Picasso Porcelain Veneers™ are hand-layered, individually designed and personalised to each patient. Each step in our process allows minute adjustments and feedback from you to ensure that you are 100% in love with your new smile.
Footballer and Bachelor star, Michael Turnbull replaced his bonded veneers with Picasso Porcelain Veneers™ for a more natural smile.
Bonded Veneers (also known as composite veneers, direct veneers, chair-side veneers or resin) are specifically crafted and bonded to your tooth enamel by a senior dentist. Bonded veneers are made up of composite resin and shaped directly by our senior dentist. It is very important to select an experienced practitioner who can provide the results you are looking for.
Bonded veneers are a minimally invasive procedure aimed to provide immediate results. The procedure is generally simpler, usually costs less and requires less wait time. However, bonded veneers do not last as long as porcelain, and are not stain resistant.
The best way to determine which option to choose is to speak with one of our senior dentists. Don't be afraid to discuss your expectations, anxieties, aspirations, and budget. We firmly believe in responsible aesthetics. The best option is always the one that best fits your specific needs.
Singer and Neighbours star, Bonnie Anderson, worked with Dr Dee to create a smile that complemented her individuality.
Much of the cost of porcelain veneers is to cover the high quality materials used in manufacturing your porcelain veneers. Dr Dee works personally with our master ceramist and only in one-on-one workshops to create a personalised smile makeover.
Each individual porcelain veneer is custom-made from your 3D scan in a shade chosen by you. This highly individualised experience cannot be automated to save costs. The placement procedure is also a time consuming and delicate process, with many people involved. We also allow as many revisions as needed to achieve the desired result.
All smile makeover cases begin with a consultation. This appointment will include an extensive examination and discussion with a senior dentist and our team of experts. During this appointment we will discuss your desired outcomes and provide recommendations on personally-tailored treatment options for you.
A comprehensive cosmetic and reconstructive consultation with Dr Dee includes a thorough examination and smile analysis. During your appointment, we will run through your treatment objectives and review any concerns and your desired outcomes.
Consultations with Dr Dee are $220 pre-paid; however, this is redeemable towards any treatment you choose to go ahead with. Please plan your time accordingly as the consultation appointment is approximately 60 minutes in duration.
We have experience caring for interstate and international patients. Video consultations are available as well as a dedicated support team for your trip.
If you are happy to move forward with the proposed treatment plan, we will proceed with a DSD (Digital Smile Design), an oral scan as well as clinical photos and records. These are kept strictly confidential unless consent is authorised by the patient.
Dr Dee is your smile architect.
He designs your new smile and directs our senior clinical team with the design, teeth and mould preparation, temporary and permanent teeth design, and quality control.
The relationship between Dr. Dee and the clinical team is the same as an Architect and a master builder. Dr. Dee designs and analyses at different stages with the vision towards your final smile. We are all well-communicated and work as one in our team.
No matter whom you see on your appointment, we are well-informed towards your end result. Rest assured that you're in good hands.
Once your smile has been digitally designed, and the temporaries (or mock ups) have been made and returned to us, we are ready to try them directly on your teeth.
We can then adjust the temporaries according to your preference. At this point, there is a great opportunity to refine the shapes, color, and other characteristics to your liking. Since the temporaries are directly on your teeth, it is also easier to determine what may suit your facial features and characteristics the best.
Once all prep work is completed, impressions will be taken of your newly prepped teeth. These will be sent off to the lab so your final hand-layered premium porcelain veneers can be created.
Shade & Position
This appointment is an exciting opportunity to further discuss, try on, and decide the shade and shape of your final veneers. This is generally done either on the day of your prep appointment or on the day after by one of our senior dentists.
Try In / Cement
Once your personalised Picasso Porcelain Veneers are made, we will remove your temporaries and try on your veneers with a provisional (temporary) glue. This appointment will be with our master ceramist so if any changes need to be made, it can be done so on the spot.
We will then make sure that you are 100% happy with your new smile before anything is made permanent. Any changes that you would like to be made are either achievable in-chair, or adjusted by our master ceramist.
If you are in love and 100% happy with your veneers, it's time to make it official - let's cement them!
Vogue Dental Studios firmly believe in responsible aesthetics. Every cosmetic, medical or dental procedure has inherent risks and benefits. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
